THE PARISH NURSE
CAROL O'NEILL, RN, ACRN

The Parish Nurse is a Registered Nurse who works through the church and assists in helping to meet the health needs of the congregation.

WHAT DOES THE PARISH NURSE DO?

Seeks to raise the health knowledge of the congregation by sharing information
on a one to one basis or through group presentations.

Provides personal health counseling and is available to explain test procedures and/or results and encourages seeking appropriate medical care. Also identifies gaps in services, unused or underutilized resources, and makes referrals.

Assists in raising awareness of community resources and services and offers literature and workshops specific to those resources.

Is a personal presence through home, hospital, or nursing home visits and works closely with the pastor to care for the needs of the church family.

WHEN IS THE PARISH NURSE AVAILABLE AND HOW CAN THESE SERVICES BE ACTIVATED?

Carol O'Neill is available a minimum of eighteen hours a week on a flexible schedule,
